The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

"For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There's no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."

"We're meant to lose the people we love. How else would we know how important they are to us?"

"Sometimes we're on a collision course, and we just don't know it. Whether it's by accident or by design, there's not a thing we can do about it. A woman in Paris was on her way to go shopping, but she had forgotten her coat - went back to get it. When she had gotten her coat, the phone had rung, so she'd stopped to answer it; talked for a couple of minutes. While the woman was on the phone, Daisy was rehearsing for a performance at the Paris Opera House. And while she was rehearsing, the woman, off the phone now, had gone outside to get a taxi. Now a taxi driver had dropped off a fare earlier and had stopped to get a cup of coffee. And all the while, Daisy was rehearsing. And this cab driver, who dropped off the earlier fare; who'd stopped to get the cup of coffee, had picked up the lady who was going to shopping, and had missed getting an earlier cab. The taxi had to stop for a man crossing the street, who had left for work five minutes later than he normally did, because he forgot to set off his alarm. While that man, late for work, was crossing the street, Daisy had finished rehearsing, and was taking a shower. And while Daisy was showering, the taxi was waiting outside a boutique for the woman to pick up a package, which hadn't been wrapped yet, because the girl who was supposed to wrap it had broken up with her boyfriend the night before, and forgot.
When the package was wrapped, the woman, who was back in the cab, was blocked by a delivery truck, all the while Daisy was getting dressed. The delivery truck pulled away and the taxi was able to move, while Daisy, the last to be dressed, waited for one of her friends, who had broken a shoelace. While the taxi was stopped, waiting for a traffic light, Daisy and her friend came out the back of the theater. And if only one thing had happened differently: if that shoelace hadn't broken; or that delivery truck had moved moments earlier; or that package had been wrapped and ready, because the girl hadn't broken up with her boyfriend; or that man had set his alarm and got up five minutes earlier; or that taxi driver hadn't stopped for a cup of coffee; or that woman had remembered her coat, and got into an earlier cab, Daisy and her friend wouldn't have crossed the street, and the taxi wouldn't have driven by. But life being what it is - a series of intersecting lives and incidents, out of anyone's control - that taxi did go by, and that driver was momentarily distracted, and that taxi hit Daisy, and her leg was crushed."

Relateable

"Sometimes you feel like every piece of this puzzle is so very different from the next, that nothing fits together, that every note is off key and you were meant to stay in bed with your eyes closed and your brain off. Forever. And other days it seems like every waking minute was spent queing you for a day to come where it will all make perfect sense. Every word, every experience, every failure, every success, every smile, every frown, every tear, every swing, every hand to hold all happened at the exact moment they should have, and have up until now been building you into something. You."

Update

Hello- I am back to updating my blog! This is where I share my opinions, stories, ideas and thoughts with the rest of the world. Most of my posts were assignments I did for Journalism and English class but now I am going more for my own basic thoughts and good quotes!
If you like what I write, tell me! If you don't, that's cool too.

Une petite update on my life... I am graduating so soon and I am so excited! Since I am graduating an entire year early, yes graduating technically while in grade 11, I have some extra time to decide what I want to do with my life. Of course, I plan on becoming an actress but the plan so far is to get my Makeup Artist Certificate in September, then work at MAC or Sephora for the summer and then in the following September when I am SUPPOSE to graduate, I will definitely go to University for some sort of Degree and for sure continue with acting!!

The Soundtrack of Simplicity

The cool, serene simplicity of the night air brushed against my skin carrying icy-yet peaceful- chills up my spine. Darkness was slowly approaching the abandoned beach; I sat there alone on the damp ground wishing to forever stay in this moment.

Gentle waves quietly creeped upon the shore leaving their subtle mark against the sand, as the reflection of the rising moon on the water glimmered a small but beautiful light. A large gust of unexpected wind flew across my still body, splashing drops of water into my open mouth and eyes. The cold, salty taste of the brisk water tickled down my throat creating an entirely new sense of happiness.

As I laid back into the dewy sand, stretching my arms and feet as far as I could, I toke a lingering breathe of fresh air. With my eyes now focused upon the dimming sky, the image of the faint shining stars suddenly left me feeling breathless. Earth, our world, in my mind was no longer as big and grand as it had always seemed. There were billions and billions of stars looking down on me, just as I was looking up at them, but in their eyes I was nothing more than a tiny invisible speck. The complications of my life no longer mattered. The endless sea ahead of me and the calm breeze surrounding me, gave me reassurance of what was truly important in life.

I slowly stood up and walked over to the edge of the shore. The sky was blackening now, but still, my own reflection was vaguely visible upon the moving water. As I looked down at myself one last time, I knew something about that night had changed me inside.

And in that very moment, the quiet sound of crickets chirping and the rippling ocean crashing forever became my sublime soundtrack of simplicity.

Equal n. To have the same rights, privileges and freedoms as another

Every thing we like or dislike, is just based on our point of view. We think it may be about being right and wrong, but how can you really tell who's RIGHT and who's WRONG? Every single thing in the world. It's all just our own opinion.
So who are we to judge?

I am so confused, and will always be confused on why people are so homophobic- still to this day and it's 2010! It's understandable if you have certain religious or just moral beliefs that disagree with same sex marriages, but when it really comes down to it people are people. If someone loves someone for who they are, regardless gender, why should it be such a big deal? Just because it's traditionally “suppose” to be a man and a women standing at the alter, doesn't necessarily mean that's RIGHT, and doesn't make same-sex marriages WRONG. If someone is in love with someone and they want to express it by getting married, how does it effect anyone else? It's so hypocritical and contradicting for people to not legally allow same-sex marriage. This is no better than RACISM. If you don't like it, don't agree with it- that's fine, just don't pay attention then.

Do gay people go around being heterophobic? No, didn't think so. And if they did, we would all laugh in their faces, so how is that any different than the other way around? It's not, and it's hypocritical to not allow gay people to get married. How would you feel if straight people weren't allowed to wed? It's not like these people choose to be gay, we don't choose to be straight. It is going against all equality and human rights and freedoms by not allowing same-sex couples to be wed. Gay people are actually a lot more accepting than most people if you think about it they love people for WHO THEY ARE, for the person, not judging anything else. It is disturbing that still to this day, that more than half the country won't accept legal same-sex marriage. And it is sickening how gay people are continuously being criticized and judged, when it doesn't effect youso why do you care?

I have seen a few of my gay guy friends in high school be judged and made fun of, and I believe it is extremely wrong and hypocritical. But again, this is just my opinion. Like everything I have said, I am not necessarily RIGHT but I am also not WRONG. When it all comes down to it, it is quite simple.

a) If you don't agree, that's fine it doesn't effect you and it should NOT matter
b) Everyone should be entitled to equal rights
c) Put yourself in their shoes for just a second

“Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be. But, before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean.”
- Bob Marley

I hope that one day we can live in a world without any hate, with equality and with love.
